Donnelly Fund Makes Grants
Several Donor Advised Funds contribute to The Piqua Community Foundation’s overall grant-making impact every year. The Donnelly Donor Advised Fund is one such fund, making donations to local organizations and projects in November of each year.A five-member committee recommends funding to various entities, with The Foundation’s Board of Directors ratifying the distributions. The committee is comprised of local residents who stay abreast of local activities; applications are not accepted.
A total of $23,200 was granted in November 2019 to the following organizations:
- Mainstreet Piqua for downtown flower plantings & Christmas decorations
- Little Kinger Fund for scholarships
- American Legion Post 184 for the Elite Squad
- Edison Community College for nursing scholarships
- Young Life Upper Miami Valley
- Miami County YMCA
- Y.W.C.A. of Piqua
- Piqua Civic Band
- Piqua Arts Council
- The Bethany Center
- Piqua Chamber Foundation / Garden Tribe project
- Salvation Army for Needs Bank and summer feeding
- Piqua City Schools for Piqua Jr. High trip to D.C.
- Protecting Our Water Ways
- Am. Legion Post 184 / Piqua Fire Dept. equipment
- Miami County Dental Clinic
- Forest Hill Cemetery for the endowment fund
- Greene Street Church food pantry
