A community foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that supports the philanthropic needs of the geographic area or region where it operates.

The Piqua Community Foundation is committed to benefiting the citizens of Piqua by promoting charitable giving within our city. Unlike many community foundations that serve entire counties or regions, we are proud to focus specifically on Piqua and work directly to address the needs of our local residents.

When you share with us, we share with many! Your donation to The Foundation helps fund grants that support organizations improving the lives of Piqua residents. We are committed to ensuring your gift makes a real difference by supporting projects and programs that make the biggest impact in our community.

For grants from the Piqua Community Fund, the Distribution Committee—made up of three Board members and four community members—reviews grant applications and makes recommendations. The Board of Directors then approves the final decisions on which organization will receive funding during the semi-annual grant cycles.

Yes! With certain types of named funds, donors can direct their contributions to the organizations or causes they wish to support.

In addition to awarding grants, The Foundation provides many options for individuals and organizations to make a lasting impact. From donor-advised funds to endowments and scholarships, we provide a variety of giving opportunities that allow donors to fulfill their charitable goals in meaningful ways. Whatever your focus may be, we’re here to help you find the best way to contribute.

Grants can be awarded to nonprofit organizations, schools and government entities that are 501(c)(3) tax-exempt or equivalent under the Internal Revenue Code.
