One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.

It’s easy to feel discouraged these days, with the economic turmoil and political battles that currently bombard us from the news media.  As the days grow shorter and the weather gets colder, the season can feel as dreary as the economic forecast.  But the Piqua Community Foundation is optimistic and has been busy!

Our distribution committee met in October to consider forty-five proposals, the largest number of grant requests ever received in a single grant cycle.  The generosity of our donors enabled thirty-six requests to be funded.  The list of those funded is found on the Grants page of this website; please review the list of activities which your contributions helped make possible. Soon, grant recipients will be busy and optimistic, as their grants benefit Piqua residents. 

We hear people saying they don’t know where to invest their money in these uncertain times.  The answer is simple – invest in your community!  Our local charitable organizations are facing a greater financial need now than in prior years, and they look to our Foundation and others to help them continue their good work.  We invite you to join us in being as generous as possible to help those who need us!  The Foundation accepts gifts of any size; a gifting form can be found on our Donors page.
