About the fund: Kristin King Wright, a Piqua native and 2006 bronze medalist on the U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team, opened The Little Kinger Fund in the same year to provide opportunities for women to participate in athletics. Hockey has enriched Kristin’s life by opening doors and allowing her to travel. In her desire to give back to the game and her community, Kristin launched the fund to provide some of those same opportunities for women through collegiate scholarships based on her legacy of athletic and academic success.
Qualifications: Applicants must be a Miami Valley female high school senior who will be participating in intercollegiate athletics at a four-year institution. Decisions will be made depending on athletic accomplishments, academic success and personal character. Applicants are required to send follow-up information if selected to receive the scholarship.
Award value: One non-renewable scholarship of $1,000
Deadline: Must be received by The Foundation office (or postmarked, if mailing) by April 25, 2023.
